{"id":1255,"date":"2016-09-15T06:58:00","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T11:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sunergoi.com\/?p=1255"},"modified":"2016-09-15T06:59:20","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T11:59:20","slug":"god-in-the-foreign-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sunergoi.com\/?p=1255","title":{"rendered":"God in the Foreign Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the last two weekends of August, I preached from two chapters in Daniel at the wonderful congregation of Restoration Arlington, pastored by my old friend David Hanke.<\/p>\n<p>The story of Daniel and other Judahite youths in the foreign courts of Babylon and Persia reveals God\u2019s faithfulness to his people in exile, his presence in their suffering, and the sure promise to restore them through the coming of his kingdom. Through each account of their exploits in the king\u2019s court, the kingdom of God shows itself to be superior to the imperial powers of the ancient Near East.<\/p>\n<p>The first sermon, entitled, &#8220;In Every Matter of Wisdom and Understanding,&#8221;
